Age 16: 2002
Finishing college aged 16, Tom decided to fully concentrate on filmmaking in short films and features. Tom worked part-time at film production houses and theatre venues as an assistant director and full-time at T.V post-production facilities as an assistant editor and camera assistant. He worked within television commercials in London and Manchester as a camera trainee.
Age 19: 2005
After completing his 17th film as writer, producer and director, Tom concluded his filmmaking ventures for a career in still photography, with a focus in celebrity portraiture. He freelanced as a unit stills photographer for P4 Films, Cheltenham Film Studios.
Age 20: 2006
In January 2006, Tom formed his company ‘Tom Doyle Photography’, with a focus on portraiture and commercial photography. Enrolling on a City and Guilds Photography course, Tom honed his lighting and cinematic techniques and he received an accreditation award for his portraiture work.
Age 21: 2007
Following a European tour and subsequent exhibition, Tom has established himself as a freelance photographer, working throughout the UK for a range of clients including: Hopwood International, Totally Magazine and Archant Life’. Tom is building his celebrity portfolio.
Age 22: 2008
After winning ‘Most Promising Business Newcomer Award’ at the annual Business Showcase awards, Tom was asked to photograph Bruce Springsteen, for Sony BMG.
His focus is now on working with national lifestyle magazines, marketing communication agencies and media relation consultancies across the UK. His 2009 plans are to start Tom Doyle International (‘TDI’) at the beginning of the year, with new target sectors of film publicity photography and editorial creative design.

Tom has continued with success for his exhibition work, taking him to venues such as the Courthouse Guild Gallery, Priory Theatre Art Gallery, Lensky (Stow-on-the-Wold) Gallery, the Number 8 Arts centre in Pershore and The Sun Gallery (Fife, Scotland). In total, he has 10 exhibitions taking place throughout the UK, in addition to his Fine Art concept photography work (featuring 8 design pieces in total).
His new clients include: Waitrose, British Airways, British Film Institute, The Guardian, Business Link and Audi. He began a business partnership with Bristol Film Studios for his studio portraiture and advertising shoots.
In January 2009, Bill Charles Inc. (based in New York) became Tom’s agent representation for his lifestyle and travel images.
Age 24: 2010
In April 2010, Tom began his third business, ‘Salago Hill’ which focused on his fashion, advertising and editorial work. Together with ‘Tom Doyle Photography’ and ‘Stories in Pictures’ this formed the basis of the three companies Tom now runs: ‘Tom Doyle Group’ being the flagship and core site for his international work, taking him to the U.S Mongolia and Canada.
At the beginning of the New Year, he won ‘The Half’ photography accolade for ‘outstanding portrait of the year’, 2009. He recently began conducting workshop seminars for primary schools to increase their creative platforms and participation in photography for their students and teachers.
Age: 25 – 2011
Tom launched his sixth business in August, after bringing ‘The Imaging Partnership’ to an international audience 5 months earlier in March. His interests have expanded to include a new enterprise in his business portfolio, ‘Signal Road’ – specializing in key art production for independent feature film posters and its distributors. Whilst operating his existing organizations, he is preparing his seventh venture, in fashion retail and design. The first ‘Avalon House’ clothing store goes live 26th August 2012.
